Purpose
- To assist food exporters selling domestically produced food, food additives, utensils or containers and packages at the request of importers
Types of issued English Certificates
- Certificate of Health
- Certificate of Free Sale
- Certificate of Analysis
- Certificate of Manufacture
- Certificate of Manufacture is scheduled to be issued beginning on September 1, 2010
Issuing Authority
- The KFDA and its six local offices
Certified Contents:
- Certificate of Health verifies that a product is produced, manufactured, managed, and distributed meeting the requirements prescribed in the Food Sanitation Act
- Certificate of Free Sale verifies that a product is sold in domestic markets and manufactured to be exported without any restrictions
- Certificate of Analysis verifies that a product is manufactured meeting the criteria and standards prescribed in the Food Sanitation Act
- Certificate of Manufacture verifies that a product is manufactured, of which the raw materials and manufacturing methods are the same as specified in the product manufacturing report
- Methods used to verify authenticity and originality
- First enter (http://eng.kfda.go.kr) and fill in the Document Number followed by the Serial Number, you will then verify the authenticity of the Certificate
- The bar-code in the lower center also allows the document's authenticity verified when passed through a bar-code reader
Certificate in foreign languages other than English
- Certificate is issued when an applicant fills in the required items and translate them into the language of the importing country and notarize and submit them
