○ The Emergency Adjustment Measures for Supply and Demand was revised and enforced in order to lower the demand of filtering respirators and surgical masks which was heightened after the spread of COVID-19 by supplying masks without any difficulty.

-By prohibiting the export of domestically produced filtering respirators and surgical masks in principle, those will be distributed in Korea.

- The volume of the publicly supplied filtering respirators and surgical masks is raised from 50% to 80%, and they are sold at the public retailer such as pharmacy, Nonghyup, and post office.

- The contracting price of all publicly supplied filtering respirators in Public Procurement Service is 1,500 won, which can supply filtering respirators in a fast yet stable manner.


○ Specfic policies aimed at stabilizing the supply and demand of filtering respirators were prepared to ensure fairness in distribution. For example, we restricted the number of filtering respirators purchased per person.

- By restricting the number of filtering respirators purchased to two per person each week, a proper amount of filtering respirators would be supplied to the citizens who need masks.

- To avoid a long waiting for filtering respirators purchase, 5-day rotation system for distribution is implemented, with the utilization of multiple purchase monitoring system.
* Selling filtering respirators on designated days based on their birth years
(Mon～Fri) Designated the filtering respirators distribution day by the final numeral in one’s year of birth/ (weekend) Anyone unable to purchase filtering respirators during the week
- Example : those born in 1963 can buy filtering respirators on Wednesday. Weekends are open to all people who were unable to purchase filtering respirators during the week.(Please refer to the attached table)


○ Allowing the sales of bulk packaging instead of individual packaging made it possible to increase the production volume of filtering respirators.
